Many contractors use the winter months to engage in professional development by enrolling in safety training classes. ARTBA offers online and virtual live instructor courses that meet COVID-19 social distancing requirements.

Our three most popular courses are listed below. The first step is to complete this “Coordinate a Training Session” form.

Preventing Runovers and Backovers: Based on more than two decades of government and industry research, this course includes step-by-step instructions on preventing worker “struck-by” incidents through creation of “Internal Traffic Control Plans (ITCPs).” It focuses on blind spot recognition, work zone access/egress, and safe backing procedures.

Fall Prevention for Transportation Contractors: Aimed at preventing occupational deaths and injuries associated with falls in highway, street and bridge construction, this multi-faceted program includes comprehensive training on slips, trips, aerial work platforms, fall prevention systems, and fall rescue plans.

OSHA’s Silica Standard for Construction Workers: This comprehensive safety training program helps workers understand how to work safely around crystalline silica as well as informing them about the national standards related to controlling exposure and training requirements.
