ARTBA and its allies from other construction sectors are encouraging employers to talk with workers next week about preventing the spread of COVID-19. More than 362,000 people in the U.S. have died of the virus, and 21.3 million have been infected, according to Johns Hopkins University.

ARTBA has prepared a number of resources transportation construction employers can use to train workers during tailgate discussions, formal training, or via social media. Toolbox talks, safety plans, videos and online resources can be found here.

“We want to remind industry leaders and workers to not let their guard down in fighting the coronavirus,” said Brad Sant, ARTBA senior vice president, safety & education. “As an essential industry, we must ensure that our crews remain in peak health to continue building, maintaining and operating America’s transportation network.”

ARTBA encourages its members to take a break during the work day and provide training to employees about staying safe and healthy during this pandemic.
