The House of Representatives July 31 passed an appropriations bill that increases U.S. Department of Transportation program funding levels through September 2021. The vote was 217-197.
The appropriations bill matches increased funding levels the House passed July 1 in its $2.2 trillion Moving Forward Act infrastructure package. It contains substantial spending increases across all transportation sectors, including more than $61 billion for core highway programs — a 42 percent increase from the current law. See more details.
The Senate has yet to release any of its FY 2021 spending bills, setting up a busy September for the chamber. The federal government is funded through Sept. 3.
