Key congressional leaders will address Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) members attending a May 21 virtual legislative briefing. The update takes place 12:15-2 p.m. Eastern. Featured lawmakers include:

  • Senate Environment & Public Works (EPW) Committee Chairman John Barrasso (R-Wyo.);
  • EPW Ranking Member Tom Carper (D-Del.);
  • House Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Committee Chairman Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.); and
  • T&I Ranking Member Sam Graves (R-Mo.) (Invited, not confirmed)

Registration is free for ARTBA members.

As Congress continues to negotiate additional COVID-19 response legislation, the TCC is urging the inclusion of a multi-year surface transportation bill and immediate support for state transportation departments. This briefing from congressional leaders will address the status of infrastructure legislation, and efforts to reauthorize the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, which expires Sept. 30.

Members of the 31 national trade associations and labor organizations are eligible to participate in the briefing.  Participants will also hear from TCC Co-Chair and ARTBA President & CEO Dave Bauer and will receive a grassroots advocacy presentation from Phone2Action.
