Opioids killed more than 42,000 people in 2016 and 40 percent of those deaths involved a prescription opioid, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Construction workers are among the hardest hit segments of the U.S. population, with some studies showing they are six to seven times more likely to die of overdoses than other employee groups.

CPWR, The Center for construction Research and Training, will host a free 2 p.m. Eastern, Feb. 27 webinar on the issue. Register here.

Sue Dong will review of CPWR’s recent Quarterly Data Report. Chris Cain will discuss CPWR’s resources and efforts to address the hazard.
