The U.S. Department of Transportation Nov. 12 announced the distribution of $900 million in infrastructure investment through Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development (BUILD) discretionary grants to 55 projects in 35 states.

BUILD funding supports roads, bridges, transit, rail, ports, and intermodal transportation projects. Half the grant funding is targeted for projects in rural areas. The Trump administration program replaced the former Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery, or TIGER, grant.

The maximum grant award is $25 million, and no more than $90 million can be awarded to a single state.  Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, and North Carolina each received three grants; while several states each got two awards. See the full list of projects.
