Stanley Marshall Herzog, chairman of the board of St. Joseph, Mo.-based Herzog Contracting Corp., passed away on Aug. 2. Herzog’s 50-year career at the company his father founded in 1969 included numerous operational and managerial positions. He began as the company’s first official employee, as a foreman on asphalt paving projects. “His experience and leadership guided the organization to exponential growth, expanding its capabilities and service locations for rail and highway construction, environment work, mass transit operations, maintenance-of-way services and railcar leasing,” according to the company website.
The company’s seven divisions focus on those categories of growth attributed to Herzog: contracting, railroad services, technology, transit services, “Green Group” and rail testing. ARTBA sends along condolences to the family and friends of this industry leader.
