The evidence of dramatic change is all around us and happening at warp speed. Mobile supercomputing, intelligent robots, self-driving vehicles, automation and artificial intelligence are transforming our personal lives and businesses. These new technologies are blending the physical, digital and biological worlds, impacting all economies and industries, and even challenging what it means to be human.
At the 2019 ARTBA Convention, held Sept. 22-25 in Savannah, Georgia, thought leaders will offer their expert insights about how these advancements will shape the future design, construction and safety of transportation projects, impact development of the industry’s workforce, and transform business operations.
Among the featured speakers is internationally-recognized technology leader Amber MacArthur, whose podcast The “AI Effect” won “Best Technology Series” earlier this year.
“With few equals,” writes YouTube co-founder Steve Chen, “MacArthur continues to demonstrate a keen insight towards the continually evolving fabric of the social web.” MacArthur has keynoted more than 300 events around the world and moderated sessions with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other notable leaders.
One of Microsoft’s original employees and recognized innovation thought leaders, Ross Smith, will provide an eye-opening presentation about how automation will disrupt the future workforce of many industries.
A panel of transportation design and construction professionals will spotlight how their firms are preparing for an era of machine intelligence.
Georgia DOT Commissioner Russell McMurry will discuss the agency’s overall transportation program and highlight new initiatives. And senior ARTBA staff will also be on hand for the always highly-rated federal legislative and regulatory update and transportation market conditions report.
The chairman’s banquet features comedian Dan Naturman, a finalist on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”
