A panel of four transportation industry association executives is one of the focal points of this year’s ARTBA Federal Issues Program (FIP) & Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) Fly-In, scheduled May 13-15 at the Grand Hyatt Washington.

They will discuss their respective organization’s policy priorities, the need to fix the Highway Trust Fund, passage of an infrastructure bill, and the scheduled 2020 reauthorization of the FAST Act during the 9 a.m., May 14, session. They are:

  • Dave Bauer, president & CEO, ARTBA;
  • Linda Bauer Darr, president & CEO, American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)
  • Jim Tymon, executive director, American Association of State Highway & Transportation Officials (AASHTO)
  • Paul Skoutelas, president & CEO at the American Public Transportation Association (APTA)

Dennis Slater, president of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), will moderate the discussion.

The FIP includes important ARTBA division, council, and committee meetings. ARTBA senior staff will update members about the latest legislative, regulatory and market developments. Leaders of the ARTBA Project 2019 Reauthorization Task Force will also outline their policy recommendations for the 2020 highway/transit bill.

The TCC fly-in is also your chance to meet face-to-face with your members of Congress to press for action on a permanent revenue solution for the Highway Trust Fund.
