More than 30 practitioners, government officials, academics and graduate students in the public private partnership (P3) sector gathered at ARTBA Jan. 15 for the 6th Annual “Town-Gown” P3 Roundtable. Discussion topics included the federal legislative outlook and priorities for P3s; allocation of risk; emerging technologies in the construction, operation and maintenance of P3 assets; and related new academic research.

ARTBA P3 Division President Jennifer Aument, president of North America for Transurban, co-chaired the roundtable. Jim Ray, senior advisor to U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, and Russell McMurry, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Transportation, both addressed the group.

ARTBA has hosted the event each year since its founding by Public Works Financing and publisher Bill Reinhardt, who recently retired. The Association for the Improvement of American Infrastructure (AIAI) is now a co-host.

Registration will open soon for ARTBA’s 31st Annual P3s in Transportation Conference, the nation’s premier event for transportation P3s, July 17-19 in Washington, D.C. This year’s event will feature a restructured awards program with new categories. We will begin accepting nominations shortly. Visit www.artbap3.org for the latest information.
