Workforce development and the growing impact of technology on transportation construction are featured topics at ARTBA’s four regional meetings over the next four weeks. These are great opportunities to hear informative presentations from key public agency and private sector leaders, and to network with industry peers.
This year’s regionals begin with the Northeastern, Oct. 24-25, at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. Ross Smith, director of test at Microsoft, and Ted Zoli, senior vice president at HNTB, will reprise some of their TransOvation Workshop™ discussion about the impact of artificial intelligence on the transportation workforce and project resiliency. The meeting also features a second workforce development panel and a discussion about issues in the region with state transportation department executives.
Jeff Marootian, director at the District Department of Transportation, will give the keynote address. Additional presentations include legislative and regulatory affairs updates and a regional market report from senior ARTBA staff.
We’ve also added on an optional “Design-Build Roundtable” from 1 – 3 p.m. Oct. 24, prior to the start of the regular meeting agenda. If you would like to register for the roundtable discussion, please RSVP to ARTBA’s Lena Khtei.
The three remaining regional meetings include: Southern, Oct. 29-30, in Atlanta; Central, Nov. 7-8, in Chicago; and Western, Nov. 14-15, in Newport Beach. To register and for more information, visit: www.artbaregionalmeetings.org. Please contact me with any questions.
