Left to right: Ray Beeman and Glenn M. Johnson of Ernst & Young.
By Mark Holan, editorial director, ARTBA
Two experts from Ernst & Young will discuss during a special Jan. 18 ARTBA webinar how changes in the federal tax code will impact transportation construction firms.
The tax law signed less than a month ago by President Trump includes:
- A reduced corporate tax rate;
- Revised tax treatment of S corporations, LLCs, and sole proprietorships;
- Changes in bonus depreciation and expensing for “qualified property;”
- New limits on like-kind exchanges; and
- Increased estate tax exemption.
Glenn M. Johnson, a principal in Ernst & Young LLP’s U.S. National Tax Department, and Ray Beeman, co-leader of EY’s Washington Council Ernst & Young practice, will lead the session. Johnson has provided tax services relating to many infrastructure projects. Beeman previously held senior staff positions with the U.S. House Committee on Ways & Means and the Joint Committee on Taxation.
The two experts will answer questions from webinar participants during the hour-long event, which begins at 3:30 p.m. Eastern.
