The House Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Committee has 15 new members, and the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee has four new members. Newsline is helping to introduce them short bios. This week: Rep. Paul Mitchell (R-Mich.) and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.).

Rep. Paul Mitchell (R-Mich.): The first-term Congressman represents Huron, Sanilac, Tuscola, Lapeer, St. Clair and Macomb counties. He serves on the T&I Committee’s Aviation; Highways and Transit, and Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials subcommittees. He graduated from Michigan State University.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.): The new senator was previously Attorney General of California. Her Senate website says she supports “smart infrastructure investments that can help fuel long-term economic growth,” including $59 billion in unmet transportation needs in California. She graduated from Howard University and received her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
