ARTBA member-firm, United Infrastructure Group, Inc., received kudos from the South Carolina Department of Transportation for completing emergency bridge repairs in just 11 days. The agency had allotted 28 days to complete the project before the new school year begins Aug. 15.
The SC 9 Bridge spans the Broad River in the town of Lockhart, about 35 miles southeast of Spartanburg. A 35-mile detour had been in place during the repair work, which will extend the life of the bridge until a new span can be constructed.
Secretary of Transportation Christy A. Hall thanked the company “for their expedient work and partnership with our employees to restore this vital link to this community.”
