The Aug. 1 deadline is approaching for local governments to apply for a $25,000 grant to help support the construction or repair of infrastructure.

The grant is named after the CASE Construction Equipment infrastructure awareness and advocacy initiative, Dire States. The ARTBA member firm announced the initiative during Infrastructure Week in May. Brad Stemper, CASE solutions marketing manager, reminded about 100 attendees of the deadline during a July 13 presentation at ARTBA’s National Workshop for State & Local Transportation Advocates in Washington, D.C.

Applicants must describe the project and provide a detailed assessment of how that local piece of infrastructure will benefit the community. The grant will help mitigate the cost of equipment rental. All local governments in the U.S. are eligible to apply.

A full list of rules and submission criteria are available at www.direstates.com/grant/ or at www.direstates.com and www.CaseCE.com. Winners will be announced in September.
