Nominations are being accepted until March 18 for the ARTBA Transportation Development Foundation’s “Helping Hand” Award. They honor the charitable efforts of transportation design, construction and safety firms that not only work to build a better U.S. transportation system, but also are good neighbors and partners in the communities where they operate.

The awards program, now in its second year, recognizes “organizations within the transportation industry that have exceptional strategic philanthropic programs that strengthen, build, improve the quality of life and make a positive difference in their communities.” Helping Hand programs eligible for recognition include, but are not limited to, providing humanitarian and environmental relief, initiatives promoting literacy or connecting students and transportation, matching gift programs for employees or transportation escort services for seniors.

HNTB Corp., Teichert, Wagman Companies, Inc., and Ghilotti Bros., Inc., were winners of the inaugural awards in 2015.

Nominations must be submitted online.  Winners will be announced at the 2016 ARTBA Federal Issues Program May 9-11 in Washington D.C.
