Several ARTBA members represented the industry at a May 14 White House event intended to promote the Obama Administration’s transportation policy and funding priorities.

Key speakers at “Conditions for Growth: The Economic Benefits of a Robust Federal Transportation Program” included U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, Office of Management & Budget Director Shaun Donovan and National Economic Council Director Jeff Zients.

ARTBA members in attendance included Ray Bond of Balfour Beatty Infrastructure; John Boyle of Mountaineer Contractors; Ben Brock of Astec Industries; Dave Cantwell of Recycled Aggregates; Tim Duit of TTK Construction; Rob Harms of George Harms Construction; and Sam Patel of Fort Myer Construction.

The presenters discussed the merits of the administration’s GROW AMERICA reauthorization proposal, which would include a large surface transportation investment increase funded by a potential tax reform package.

ARTBA thanks its members, many of whom traveled long distances, for representing the industry on this occasion.
