ARTBA and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) have joined forces again for a second wave of radio commercials telling Congress to fix federal transportation funding and find a permanent solution for the federal Highway Trust Fund (HTF).
The 30-second spots air on WTOP—Washington, D.C.’s, top-rated news talk radio station—multiple times during the morning and afternoon drive times May 12-14.
Last week, the two associations targeted radio spots in the home states and districts represented by nine congressional leaders from both parties.
Both campaigns precede the May 31 deadline to extend funding through the HTF for the federal highway and public transit program.
With just 10 days to go before Congress is scheduled to adjourn for the Memorial Day recess, the legislative path forward and the possible length of the next HTF extension remain unclear.
The latest ad notes: “Tell Congress to fix the Highway Trust Fund the right way this time. User fees are fair and they work.” Listen to the full ad.
