The central focus of the June 9-11 ARTBA Federal Issues Program (FIP) and Transportation Construction Coalition (TCC) Fly-In can be summed up in three words: Highway Trust Fund (HTF).  Given the fund’s precarious financial footing and the fact that U.S. DOT says it will be forced to slow down reimbursements to the states this July for federal-aid work already underway, this is the industry’s time to get to Washington to press Congress for a solution now.

During the FIP, ARTBA’s government affairs team will provide an update on the HTF situation and share talking points to prep you for your meetings with members of Congress and their staffs.  Dr. Alison Premo Black, ARTBA’s chief economist, will deliver a national transportation construction market update and highlight which states are already warning of the impacts on their construction programs from the continued uncertainty over the HTF.  ARTBA division meetings and face-to-face discussions with key federal regulatory officials are also on the agenda.  Finally, on June 10, the ARTBA Foundation will announce the winners of the 2014 Globe (environmental) and PRIDE (community and public relations) Awards.

Book your hotel accommodation directly through the Mayflower by calling 1-800-468-3571 or 202-347-3000. Ask for the ARTBA Federal Issues Program rate of $309 per night, which is guaranteed through May 9.
