The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is hosting a May 16 webinar on best practices for using automated machine guidance (AMG) in construction zones.

The free webinar is intended to help state transportation department (DOT) officials, engineering consultants, and contractors. Engineers from the New York State and Oregon DOTs, and an Iowa-based contractor specializing in AMG, will offer their expertise.

Topics include validating existing conditions, handling changes in construction, and modifying specifications to accommodate the use of AMG. The experts will also describe how contractors use electronic design data throughout the construction process and preparing construction inspectors for the digital jobsite.

Participants will better understand how to address and overcome common challenges experienced when using these digital inspection technologies.

The 90-minute webinar begins at 2 p.m. Eastern. See the FHWA flier, and register here.
